Panera Bread's French Onion Soup

As the weather gets colder it's the perfect time of year to cozy up and enjoy some warm soup. And what better place to get a delicious bowl of soup than Panera Bread? At Panera Bread you'll find a variety of tasty soups ranging from comfort classics to soups with a twist. No matter what soup you choose they all are based around Panera's "Good Goes In" philosophy and only use the freshest ingredients.

With so many flavors it's hard to pick just one, but I'd have to say my favorite at Panera Bread is the classic French Onion. Sliced onions are sauteed in butter and seasonings, layered with a light beef broth, and topped with Panera's homemade croutons and Asiago-Parmesan cheese (no cheese on mine since I'm dairy free).

This French Onion soup has just the right balance of savory flavors with a hint of sweetness from the
sauteed onions. The homemade croutons are delicious and add the perfect crunch. The soup is typically topped with a melted bubbly Asiago-Parmesan cheese to bring all the flavors together. And don't forget about that crusty baguette on the side...dip that bad boy in the soup to soak up all the goodness!

Oh and how could I forget...see that awesome looking salad to the left? With Panera's U Pick 2 Combo you can get a cup of soup + a hand-tossed salad or sandwich to complete your meal.

So what are you waiting for?! Grab some friends and head over to your nearest Panera Bread because a bowl of soup is what brings people together!

And don't forget to learn more about all the delicious soups Panera Bread has to offer at their new soup website.

As a part of the DailyBuzz Food Tastemaker program, I received a free gift card from Panera Bread to use towards a soup of my choice. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
